Ten weeks ago we took control of Southend Council – and we’re already making a difference. Here are ten things our administration is already delivering for Southend:

1. £4.3mn for new council housing
2. Put money in the budget for more street lights
3. Better enforcement for dangerous parking around schools
4. Introduced a Public Spaces Protection Order to combat anti-social behaviour – now extended to include Hamlet Court Road and Southchurch Gardens
5. Better housing allocations policy including more help for the homeless
6. Commitment to becoming a Living Wage Employer
7. Changes for better social care leadership
8. Halt to unnecessary tree felling
9. Charges scrapped for blue badge holders and one-hour parking costs in town centre car parks reduced
10. A new town centre investment partnership
