We don’t know what restrictions on social distancing, maximum numbers in buildings or even going out of our homes will be in place when the local elections are held in May, but whichever way you vote (we obviously hope it will be Labour) it’s important you do so safely. The easiest way is by post – why not apply for an early postal vote now?

You can request an application form by emailing the council at elections@southend.gov.uk or phoning them on 01702 215010 or you can click here to download the form then print it, fill it in and send it to Electoral Services, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend-on-Sea SS2 6FA.
There are likely to be a lot of applications for postal votes this year so it will ease the burden on the council’s electoral services team if residents apply early.
