The Executive Committee of the Rochford & Southend East Constituency Labour has issued the following statement as a press release:-

The Rochford & Southend East Constituency Labour Party condemns the personal attacks and falsehoods that have been circulated on social media concerning our Vice-Chair, Kate Sheehan.

We applaud Kate’s stand on speaking out for frontline NHS staff to be provided with an adequate level of personal protective equipment (PPE) when treating patients suffering from Covid 19. Even in this time of crisis, it is necessary for the Government to be held to account for its handling of the pandemic. It is unacceptable that the malicious, personal attacks on Kate are being used to detract from the truth about the risks that NHS staff are being required to face on a daily basis.
