Here at Southend Labour we know that local people are worried about the effects of Covid-19 / Coronavirus and how they will manage.
For the latest official guidance, information on government food parcels, testing and help for victims of domestic abuse please visit www.southend.gov.uk/coronavirus
We have a group of Labour members able to offer help and support to people across Southend who are self-isolating or finding it hard to manage. If you need help shopping for food, medicines, toiletries, baby items etc. we have volunteers able to do these tasks. If you live alone and are feeling lonely we can give you a call and have a chat. We have members who live in all parts of Southend.
If you would like a volunteer to help you, or if someone you know would like our help, please call or text message the scheme’s co-ordinators: 07474 222584 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
When you ask for help, we will pass on your name and what you need to one of our volunteers so that they can get in touch with you.
Local food banks and soup kitchens are likely to get low on supplies because some people are panic-buying. If you are able to make any donations – items like pasta, long-life milk, tinned goods and toiletries – we can arrange to collect these from you to take to Southend’s food banks and emergency food providers so that people in desperate need can be helped.
Please feel pass this information on to your friends and neighbours – we are here to help in our community.
