Sayeeka Farnaz – Labour’s Candidate for Shoeburyness Ward
I am delighted to have been selected to stand as the Shoeburyness candidate having moved to Southend from London in the last year. I believe that I have the experience and commitment to be a strong voice representing Shoeburyness on Southend Council having been active in the Labour Party for some time. I love Southend and all it has to offer, and would love the opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of the community.
Topics that are particularly important to me include caring for the environment and reducing carbon emissions and funding for the NHS.
As a Bangleshi-born Muslim woman who became a British Citizen in 2018, access to education has meant that I could aspire to and achieve a career in the City of London. I support Labour’s unified National Education Service proposition; education makes all the difference and every citizen deserves equal access to a high quality education.
I take a keen interest in public policy and follow key changes to legislation as a personal interest.
I believe my passion for change and equality, along with my advocacy and communication skills make me a strong candidate to serve as your councillor. It would be an honour to contribute to health and well-being across this town.
