With two seats available in St Luke’s this year, we are thrilled to have selected Gabriel Leroy as our second candidate for the May 2021 Local Elections.

Gabriel is an experienced and energetic campaigner, and with Martin Berry as our other candidate St Luke’s voters will have the chance to select a dynamic team to represent them. Gabriel has been working hard for residents in Southend since he was 16, listening to their concerns and fighting for the necessary changes that only Labour will deliver in Southend.

Gabriel says, “ This is my first time standing for council, and I am grateful to have been chosen as a new candidate for St Luke’s in the upcoming elections. As there are two seats in St Luke’s I will be fighting alongside my co-candidate Martin Berry to show our residents how we will deliver for them, and ensure we have a Labour-led council!”

“I believe that the residents of St Luke’s need a strong voice for them, something they will definitely get with Martin and me on the council. I want to ensure that we tackle the problems facing our residents, such as anti social behaviour. I will be pushing for more police presence and ensure that I stand up for the residents by reporting issues when they arise. I will also deliver for the families of St Luke’s, pushing against cuts we have suffered from the Tories and pressing for more community facilities. I am ready to bring energy to the council, and fight for not only the residents of St Luke’, but for all young people across Southend!”

“For too long residents’ voices have been ignored here, we will listen to residents and put their interests first. A vote for us is a vote for the residents of St Luke’s, and a vote for the future of Southend.”

To follow the campaign please visit the St. Luke’s Labour Facebook page. A copy of our candidate introduction leaflet has been delivered throughout the ward and is available to view on screen or download from here, a second leaflet, with more about  our policies and intentions if elected, is being prepared and will be delivered to residents soon.
