Southend is changing for the better — and Labour is delivering that change.
After years of underinvestment, weak leadership and declining services, Labour took control of the council and got to work. Finances have been stabilised, services protected, and investment restored into the things that matter most to residents.
In just two years, Labour has delivered real progress: record funding for roads and pavements, thousands of potholes repaired, stronger community safety, support for local businesses, and renewed investment in parks, infrastructure and public services.
Most importantly, Labour has delivered on every promise made in the 2024 local election manifesto.
This is the difference: delivery, not promises.
Now Labour is setting out the next stage of its plan through a renewed Five Point Plan focused on what matters most:
protecting services, fixing roads, tackling antisocial behaviour, regenerating the city centre, and supporting residents with the cost-of-living.
Southend now faces a clear choice. Reform offers the same failed Tory politicians who caused the decline. Labour offers stability, investment and a clear plan for the future.
Labour is rebuilding civic pride, restoring confidence in local government and laying the foundations for long-term success.
The work has begun — but there is more to do.
