After a very long hiatus we’ve finally managed to get the bank to give account access to the 100 Club Secretary and LCF Treasurer – so we’ve been able to do all the missed draws this weekend. All the winners have been notified by email and the prizes will be in their bank accounts soon after the end of the bank holiday. Future draws will be done at the first convenient meeting each month

Congratulations to the winners: we won’t list them all, but almost everyone who subscribes to the club has won a prize of some sort with the highest being £25.00 and the lowest £4.60. Several people, mainly those with multiple monthly entries, have won more than one prize.

A total of £558 has been paid in prizes for the past twelve months and £496 raised for campaign funds (subscriptions are split 50:50 between prizes and campaign funds but there are some administrative costs such as bank changes and the licensing and data protection fees).  Without the 100 Club contributions to campaign funds going towards the cost of things like direct mail and leaflets, it’s possible we wouldn’t have gained the council seats we have – so thank you to everyone who pays in every month: even if you haven’t won a cash prize, you’ve won all Southend residents the prize of a Labour-led Council.

100 Club Re-Launch Update, 23rd February 2019

In early February 2019, Southend Labour re-launched its 100 Club to coincide with our local Labour Party celebrating 100 years since it was established in Southend.

Joining the Southend Labour 100 Club is a fantastic opportunity to not only win fabulous cash prizes every month, but also help raise essential funds to get our candidates elected to Southend City Council. Money raised will be used exclusively for campaigning activities in the 17 wards that make up the city of Southend (and the wards of Essex County Council that fall within the boundaries of Rochford & Southend East CLP).

Other than a very small amount that goes towards administrative costs such as bank charges and the licence, all your monthly payments will be split equally between the 100 Club prize fund, to be paid back out to members, and campaign funds. Initially we intend to raise money to cover the costs of producing & printing the Local Manifesto and leaflets outlining Labour’s policies locally (estimated to be around £1,800).

There will be five prizes awarded each month, totalling 50% of the money collected from members of the Southend Labour 100 Club in the month that draw relates to. the remaining 50% is for campaign funds

1st Prize – £50% of the prize fund

3rd Prizes – 10% of the prize fund each for three 3rd prize winners

The more members who enter the higher the prizes will be – and the more money we’ll have for our campaigns
