The Southend Labour Party supports the development of social housing at the previously NHS owned land at Fossetts Farm. The current owners, Homes England, have now submitted a planning application to Southend Borough Council which includes only a small number of “affordable homes” and no provision for social housing.

We would urge that everyone submits an objection to the planning application and do so before the deadline of Wednesday 25th March. This can be done easily either via the Council’s website or by e-mail.

It is vital that an opportunity to build more social housing in the Borough is not missed.
