Members of the Labour Party in Southend have selected Taylor Barrall to contest Chalkwell ward at the council elections in May 2016
Taylor, who lives in the ward, was a key member of the Southend West Labour campaign team at the general election, and is a keen local activist.
"I am pleased to have been selected for Chalkwell and am proud to stand for the ward in which I reside in. My decision to stand was motivated by my desire to bring attention to a range of local issues which I feel are being ignored. Some of these include: parking, footpaths and homelessness. By properly addressing their concerns, I believe I can connect with residents and earn their trust and confidence."
Julian Ware-Lane, who was Labour's parliamentary candidate for Southend West in May, said, "Taylor's help and enthusiasm was invaluable in the long parliamentary campaign. He will make an excellent councillor for the people of Chalkwell."
