Ros Sanders is the Labour Party's candidate for Southchurch in the 2016 Southend Borough Council Elections.
I have lived in Southend most of my life. I am married and we have three grown up children and seven grandchildren. I have worked in the private and public sector, and spent the last twenty five years of my career working in Adult Education. I am now retired and have time to become more involved in local politics.
The reason I am standing as a candidate for Labour is that I believe it important to let all Southend residents know what has been achieved during the past couple of years of Southend's Joint Administration; and what is planned for the future.
I am delighted to be selected again as the Labour Candidate for Southchurch Ward. I believe that it is important that all our young people have the best start in life, receive a good education and are able to keep safe in their local communities; and that It is essential to retain local services for all ages. I am passionate about the benefits of working in partnerships and the need to continue to break down silo working in both the voluntary and statutory sectors.
If elected, I believe that I could make a difference in Southend by using my skills and experience of partnership working to protect and develop essential services for the residents of Southend. I believe it essential to listen to residents concerns and to continue to work to ensure a fairer society for all.
