Can you afford the Conservative/Lib Dem Government’s cuts to continue?

There are big elections in May 2012. The result of these elections will be crucial to the daily lives of everyone in the community as they will determine how the spending cuts will be made.

If the Tories and Lib Dems win again, it could cost you dear.

So far the Tory/Lib Dem coalition has announced cuts to the following, hitting families hard.

  • Job support for young people
  • Tax Credits
  • Housing Benefit
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Child Trust Fund

On top of that the Tories have suggested that they could:

  • Impose fixed term tenancies which could mean council tenants are forced out of their homes after just five years
  • Cut 600,000 public service jobs
  • Reduce police numbers
  • Lock-up fewer criminals

Labour says there is a better way

Yes, we have to reduce the deficit, but hardworking people should not have to bear the brunt of it.  The path of unnecessary cuts which the Tories – propped up by the Lib Dems – have taken is one they have chosen.

Don’t stand for it!

Labour says there is a different way.  Spending does not have to be cut so hard and fast. Labour would cut spending more slowly and protect families from the brunt of the cuts.

Choose a better way in the 2012 elections
