Rochford & Rayleigh area Local Campaign Forum

The inaugural meeting of our new Local Campaign Forum to cover the area which comes under Rochford District Council will be held on Tuesday 12th January at 7.30pm at the Parish Rooms (opposite Rochford railway station).

The Local Campaign Forum is where we hear from our two Rochford District Councillors about what has been happening in the Council Chamber and what is planned. This is an opportunity for members to ask questions of our councillors as well as come up with and discuss ideas for Labour Party campaigns in the town.

All Labour Party members who are resident in the Rochford District Council area (which of course includes Ashingdon, Canewdon, Barling, Foulness, Wakering, Hakwell, Hockley and parts of Rayleigh as well as Rochford itself) are encouraged to attend.

Because this is the first meeting of the newly-formed Local Campaign Forum, part of the evening will be spent on electing members to Officer positions - to carry out roles such as Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Fundraising and so on. Please consider putting yourself forward for one of those positions.

Our colleagues in Southend have had a Local Campaign Forum in operation for the last few years and that has worked well. Such an arrangement is particularly useful where Parliamentary Constituency boundaries don't match local council ones - as in our area.
