Members of the Labour Party in Southend have selected Mike Fieldhouse to contest Prittlewell ward at the council elections in May 2016.
Mike lives in Westcliff with his wife and two children. He works for a publishing company, and volunteers for a charity providing counselling to survivors of childhood sexual abuse and rape.
Mike said, "I am thrilled to have been chosen as your Labour Party candidate to stand in Prittlewell ward next year. Having lived in the area for ten years, I think Southend is a fantastic town, but know that there is still work to make it even better. I look forward to speaking to residents and campaigning on the issues which matter to them.
Julian Ware-Lane, who was Labour's parliamentary candidate for Southend West in May, said, "Mike has shown a tremendous passion and enthusiasm for progressive politics in Southend. His can-do attitude is exactly the sort of council representation that Prittlewell needs, and residents would be well served indeed by him.”
