I have lived in Southend since 2013, and has been an activist with the local Labour Party since moving to the area. In that time he has campaigned on many issues across the borough.
I live in the town centre, and am acutely aware of the specific needs of Southend as a seaside town with a serious housing crisis and particular issues of homelessness and anti-social behaviour. If elected to the council, I will work to increase the amount of new affordable and social housing in Southend, and making sure that it is a safe and prosperous place to live and work. I will also support tougher action against bad landlords who cause problems in some parts of the ward.
Fear of crime is a serious issue in Kursaal, and I support Labour's plans for a new enforcement service to provide a visible presence on the streets, alongside our fight to get more Police resources in the area.
