The Labour Party in Southend has re-selected Cllr Julian Ware-Lane to contest Milton ward at the council elections in May 2016.
Cllr Ware-Lane has represented the town centre ward since 2012, and was the first Labour councillor elected to Milton on the present ward boundaries.
Cllr Ware-Lane said, 'I am delighted that Milton Labour members have again placed their confidence in me. It has been an honour to have been the councillor for the last three and a half years in this wonderful ward, and I will be straining every sinew to see another Labour victory here.'
Matt Dent, Labour activist and Milton resident, added, 'Over the last few years, Julian has been tireless in representing the residents and interests of Milton ward. Where Conservative councillors have been silent, he has spoken up, and I look forward to him doing the same for another four years.'
