Southend Labour Party has announced that it will be hosting a visit from deputy leadership candidate Ben Bradshaw, next week.
Mr Bradshaw, the MP for Exeter, will be visiting the Labour Office at 268 Sutton Road, at 14.00 on Tuesday 25th August, to speak and listen to local party members and supporters before casting their votes in the internal election.
Matt Dent, the chair of Southend Labour's local campaign forum, said, "I'm delighted that Ben has chosen to visit us. Southend has been a real area of growth and success for the Labour Party, seeing us increase our share of the vote at the general election, as well as remaining a part of the council's joint administration. I look forward to hearing what Ben has to say."
Gray Sergeant, a Southend Labour activist and supporter of Ben Bradshaw's deputy leadership campaign, said, "Ben Bradshaw has worked hard since 1997 to turn the Conservative constituency of Exeter into a Labour stronghold in a sea of blue. He is the only candidate on any of the leadership ballots to represent a seat in the South, a region where we need to win in order to win an overall majority."
