Anne Jones has been selected by Labour Party members in Southend to contest Westborough ward at the 2016 local elections.
Councillor Anne Jones has served as the representative for Kursaal ward for the last four years, during which she served as the lead member for children and learning in the council, and is returning to the ward where she and her family lived for several years.
Anne said, "I am delighted to have been selected by Westborough Labour members. I have been privileged to serve Kursaal residents for the last four years, and if the voters of Westborough allow me the chance I will serve them as diligently. Having lived in Westborough, I know the area, and I look forward to speaking to my former neighbours and others about the issues I know many of them face and hearing their concerns first hand."
Cllr Kevin Robinson, Labour councillor for Westborough, said, "Anne has already proved herself as a strong representative and a very capable councillor. Her selection shows that Labour are taking Westborough ward seriously and intend to give Westborough ward the strongest possible community representation."
