We currently have sixteen Labour Councillors representing wards in the Southend City Council area. The results of the elections on 4th May last year meant that the Council is in no overall control (no one party has a majority over all the others) and the Conservatives are currently in minority administration. Please see the ‘Our Councillors‘  and ‘wards’ pages for information about our local councillors and activities in your area. We are obviously hoping to win enough seats in the local elections on 2nd May this year to gain control of the Council and start to reverse the damage the Conservatives have done. A list of our candidates is below and more information about them will be published shortly. For general information about voting please visit the Council’s Electoral Services page. If you would like to join our campaign please see ‘Help us win‘.
